“Maison” means “house” in French. But to us, it is also a place of preservation. A place where memories are distilled into scents. A place where identity is carefully nurtured through time so that when it is opened, the spirit once lived through generations remains intact.
“Nguyễn” is the surname of nearly half of Vietnamese people, a heritage of a dynasty, and a symbol that feels both familiar and profound to Vietnam.
We call our brand Maison de Nguyễn with the hope of adding a quiet yet enduring voice to the journey of safeguarding and carrying forward Vietnamese values through fragrance.
A brand carrying the spirit of Vietnam
We chose Vietnam as our root. From ingredients and packaging design to every spark of inspiration, everything is distilled from the culture, memories, and unique beauty of the Vietnamese people.
Our core belief
Born from a love of perfume and a deep pride in Vietnamese heritage, we nurture the aspiration to bring the essence of Vietnamese fragrance onto the world’s scent map.
Collection
Maison de Nguyễn begins its journey in Đại Nội Huế (nếu không muốn dùng từ này thì có thể sử dụng Imperial Citadel of Huế) —a place where imperial solemnity, quiet contemplation, and deep cultural resonance of the Nguyễn Dynasty converge. This collection of five scents is composed as five delicate fragments of memory, crafted to awaken the spirit of a royal era long past.
Cố Cung once witnessed over a century of Nguyễn Dynasty rule. More than a royal seat of power, it is steeped in memories of a golden age. Through faded wooden doors and moss-covered walls, the breath of the past lingers quietly still.
In Eastern culture, tea is a familiar beverage enjoyed by everyone, from commoners to kings and courtier. Behind those quiet wooden doors lies a tranquil inner chamber, once frequented by emperors as they gathered to discuss matters of state. A wisp of smoke and a sip of tea became a quiet rhythm for the mind, keeping their thoughts clear and their judgment wise as they shaped the fate of the realm.
Within the imperial city of Huế, there were many gardens that served as places of retreat and relaxation for the royal family. When court affairs were set aside, the emperor would retreat to the imperial garden. There, he walked in quiet thought, letting poetry ease his mind and preserve a sense of inner peace.
Nhật Bình, a traditional court attire worn by imperial princesses and consorts, was a symbol of elegance and noble virtue.
After a quiet moment in the imperial garden, the palace returns to its solemn rhythm of ceremony. In the hushed and shadowed space of the ancestral hall, the princess appears in a red Nhật Bình, the formal attire that symbolizes the grace and virtue of royal women in times past.
After the solemn rites, the Đại Nội glows with the flavors and colors of the royal feast. Under the palace lights, the banquet table appears with ginseng wine, lotus sweet soup, ginger cakes, and sweet rice crafted for the noble class.
We use native natural essential oils, combined with carefully selected ingredients from around the world, to honor culture through fragrances deeply infused with Vietnamese identity.
Your sharing becomes a vital part of our journey to safeguard and spread cultural identity through scent.
